I just got back today from my mini-holiday in Calgary. I ate a TON of good food, did some running and working out, met some new people, and hung out with my family. It was a good time.
I can't believe the hurricane and its effects... it's awful. It reminds me of how small we really are. We build ourselves up with our technology, fancy buildings, extravagant possessions, and we think we are sophisticated and invincible. Then in just one day, it's all gone. And suddenly we realize that we have no control whatsoever over our lives, which is such a frightening thought. Thank God for humanity's drive to survive, which is what will allow the survivors to pull through. My heart goes out to all the hurting families down there... I will be donating some money to the relief effort as soon as I decide which agency to give it to. :(
